I recently came across a cache of early 1930's shellac electrical transcriptions from the Transcription Company of America (TRANSCO). Most of the material has been completely uncirculated to this point. The discs were in marvelous shape. Below are two low bitrate examples of the material. If you're interested in trading to CD or Wav copies, please contact me at the email address listed below. Given the rarity of this material, I am looking for trades of a similar nature and or collecting value.
Life O'Riley-Episode 3. This is one episode of a 13 part serial (complete in my collection). Rolly wins a local contest and travels to Hollywood in order to enter the motion picture business. In this episode, Rolly, who likes to be known as Riley, visits with world famous football star Red Grange.
FunFest-Episode 1039. - This series focussed the humour and music around various themes. This episode has as it's theme "Up in the Clouds". Hosted by Johnny Murray, the series seems to try to emulate the old vaudeville shows of a slightly earlier era.
CharlesFrederickLindsley-Ep_13A- According to the FGRA, Lindlsey was a speech professor and radio announcer whose precise diction and enunciation put the non-professionals to shame. In this series of readings, Lindsley was accompanied by an organist providing background and further dramatic effect. The reading here is "The Midnight Ride of Ichabod Crane"
